MS Nordlys is named after the spectacular Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, which occur between October and March in the Arctic waters. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon that appear in the sky of the Northern Hemisphere as green and red waves or flares and they have been astounding people with their beauty for generations.

Floating among the Northern Lights

The ship was constructed in 1994 and is the third of its name. Taking inspiration from her namesake, the interior of MS Nordlys is light filled and delicate, with splashes of colour to create a unique and distinct environment onboard. Norwegian artists have specifically chosen the colours, art and decor to create the classic relaxed Hurtigruten ambience.

The many lounges and comfortable reclining chairs in the panorama lounge make this the perfect place to watch nature at its best and marvel at the natural light show.

Cruising for all ages

MS Nordlys has a variety of cabin options and with a playroom and library, is suitable for families, couples or single travellers alike. Deck seven has a fitness room and deck two a sauna so guests can keep in shape, while the top deck has a large outdoor explorer deck to breathe in the fresh Arctic air. Various wildlife may be seen from here, while the restaurants inside offer great views of the beautiful wild surrounds.
