ITINERARY

DAY 1 OSLO (NORWAY)

Make your own way to the hotel by public transport, taxi or private transfer. Tonight, meet the tour manager and your fellow travellers over a welcome dinner. D

DAY 2 OSLO

After breakfast, we enjoy a half day city tour of Oslo, taking in the must-see sites, like the Vigeland Park, the Oslo Opera House, Holmenkollen ski jump and more. Entrance to the Viking Ship Museum, a highlight of any visit to Oslo, is included. B

DAY 3 OSLO – FLAM

After an early breakfast we will begin the famous 'Norway in a Nutshell', catching the morning train from Oslo to Myrdal, where we will change trains to begin the famous Fla?m Rail, with its spectacular fjord views. Arriving into Fla?m, where we enjoy an overnight stay. BD

DAY 4 FLAM – BERGEN

This morning we catch the ferry from Fla?m
to Gudvangen, passing through the narrow Nærøyfjord. From Gudvangen the journey then continues by bus, weaving through valleys lined by waterfalls to Voss. There we board a train for Bergen, arriving in the afternoon. Rest of the day is at leisure. B

DAY 5 BERGEN – NORWEGIAN

VOYAGE NORTHBOUND
(DAY 1 OF NORWEGIAN VOYAGE NORTHBOUND)
Enjoy a morning in Bergan before you enjoy a tour of picturesque Bergen. See Saint Mary’s Church, Haakon Hall and the UNESCO listed Bryggen. We also visit Troldhaugen, the home of Norway’s most famous composer Edvard Grieg. Troldhaugen consists of the Edvard Grieg Museum, Grieg’s villa, where he composed music and his gravesite. The tour ends at Bergen pier where we board the Hurtigruten ship. The ship departs Bergen and heads north towards Florø and Alesund. BD

DAY 6 ALESUND

(DAY 2 OF NORWEGIAN VOYAGE NORTHBOUND)

We navigate the skerries and islands further north before reaching Alesund, renowned for its beautiful Art Nouveau architecture. Leaving Alesund we head north towards Trondheim. BLD

DAY 7 TRONDHEIM

(DAY 3 OF NORWEGIAN VOYAGE NORTHBOUND)

Arrive early in the morning into Trondheim, with time to explore Norway’s first capital. Look out for the storehouses along the river built on wooden stilts. BLD

DAY 8 ARCTIC CIRCLE & LOFOTEN ISLANDS

(DAY 4 OF NORWEGIAN VOYAGE NORTHBOUND)

As we cross the Arctic Circle, the hunt for the Arctic Light begins! Onboard learn more about the ‘Aurora Borealis’ during a presentation, focused on this phenomenon. Later, enter the dramatic and narrow Raftsund, and if the weather and ice conditions allow, sail to the entrance of the famous Trollfjord. BLD

DAY 9 TROMSO

(DAY 5 OF NORWEGIAN VOYAGE NORTHBOUND)

After a morning stop in Finnsnes, the ship continues to Tromso, the gateway to the Arctic, for a prolonged stay. After an exhilarating day in Tromso, we continue our northbound journey. The ship is now sailing into the area along the coast with the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights. BLD

DAY 10 HONNINGSVAG & THE NORTH CAPE

(DAY 6 OF NORWEGIAN VOYAGE NORTHBOUND)

Honningsvag is the nearest port to the North Cape - at 71° 10’ 21” N, only 2,000 kilometres from the Geographical North Pole. Continue to Kjollefjord where we might see the Northern Lights on a clear, starlit sky. BLD

DAY 11 KIRKENES – SAARISELKA (FINLAND)

Admire dramatic coastal vistas as we approach Kirkenes, to disembark the cruise this morning. Enjoy a short drive through Kirkenes and learn more about its history before making our way towards Finnish Lapland. We arrive to the small village of Inari, and visit the SIIDA Sami museum, where we enjoy lunch. Afterwards, we stop at a local reindeer farm for a Sami reindeer experience. Learn more about the local reindeer and reindeer herding. Enjoy coffee/tea and pastry by open fire in a Kota hut and here stories about the Sami culture and handicrafts. Afterwards we will arrive at Saariselka. BLD

DAY 12 SAARISELKA

Enjoy a visit to a husky farm. We will meet the head musher, where they will talk about the life and training of these unique Arctic dogs, here we have the chance to take some amazing photos of the breathtaking Arctic wilderness. The evening is free to explore Saariselka or enjoy an optional excursion. B

DAY 13 SAARISELKA – SINETTA

Today we visit the world famous Santa Claus Village, where you will have free time to explore, and maybe see Santa! In the evening, we will enjoy a truly unique Arctic experience, spending the night in a glass igloo. BD

DAY 14 SINETTA – ROVANIEMI

Depart Sinetta and transfer to Rovaniemi.
The remainder of the day is free to explore Rovaniemi or participate in an optional excursion. B

DAY 15 ROVANIEMI – JARVISYDAN

This morning we travel to Ja?rvisyda?n, a truly unique hotel resort spa in the Finnish wilderness. In the afternoon you’ll be able to relax and enjoy spa treatments, or participate in many of the outdoor activities the resort has to offer. BD

DAY 16 JARVISYDAN – HELSINKI

Today we leave the wilderness of Ja?rvisyda?n to Helsinki, arriving in the afternoon, where we can explore the city with a half day city tour before checking into our hotel. B

DAY 17 HELSINKI – TALLINN (ESTONIA)

Today we have an early start with a full day excursion to the medieval town of Tallinn in Estonia. Take the ferry across to Tallinn for a combined bus and walking tour of this stunning Baltic city. Stops will include the baroque Kadriorg Park and the seaside district of Pirita. Walk through the winding, cobble stoned streets of the Old Town, before continuing to the Palace of Toompea, that houses the Estonian Parliament. We then visit Aleksander Nevskij Cathedral and the Dome Church before enjoying some time at leisure before boarding the ferry to Helsinki. Tonight, enjoy a special farewell dinner. BD
